Interesting cloud structures on this morning's visible satellite loop. It's called a Kármán vortex street, a series of vortices that propagate downwind from a wind obstruction (the terrain of Cape Mendocino in this case). Dry air from land and/or subsident flow in lee of obstruction gets trapped in circulation, forming what appears to be an “eye”.
